Trackback Spam Sucks (Web Site)

Well the little bastards have been nailing me lately with trackback spam. This is annoying because there is no queue concept with trackbacks, they just show up. I'll be looking into MT 3.2 Beta 2 sometime in the near future to see if the new moderation features are actually worth running a beta release. I'm also planning some site revisions again. I think I'll be eliminating the main page, and having the blog be the only thing I host. Running two separate MT blogs is only confusing, and doesn't really accomplish what I had wanted. However, I never got around to setting up what I wanted, and now am so unsure as to where to go with this site that I'm not gonna muck about with random concepts now. Just keep what works working and move along.

Rant Complete!

I might be off base here since I don't know what you were originally trying to accomplish; perhaps you'd get some mileage out of a more robust CMS as your frontpage and use MT (or another blogging solution entirely) specifically for personal blogging.

Having tried at least a dozen open source CMSs myself, my recommendation goes to PHP-Fusion (link at the bottom of my site). Of all I've tried, I find the admin panel to be balanced just right in favor of efficiency, while the codebase is clean and structured quite well enough to allow for customization in just about any way you see fit.

My condolences, man. I've given up on trackback for now, until they develop a better management scheme for it. It seems there's been a swell of TB spam of late, too: several other blogs I read have commented on it recently.
